1. Overview

Doux Parenting is a parental assistance tool designed to help parents and legal guardians better understand and evaluate supported online video content, including content viewed on YouTube.

The service analyzes supported content signals to generate parent-facing safety insights, including safety scores, concern scores, category flags, summaries, alert triggers, creator ratings, live session ratings, estimated age guidance, and related scan history.

This Privacy Policy explains how Doux Parenting collects, uses, processes, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our website, browser extension, dashboard, alerts, and related services.

By using Doux Parenting, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Doux Parenting is designed to minimize unnecessary data collection. Depending on how you use the service, we may collect the following categories of information:

3. Content Analysis and Processing

To provide safety insights, Doux Parenting may analyze supported YouTube content using signals such as:

Audio processing, when used, is limited to supported content analysis and is used solely to generate automated safety insights and related product features.

In some cases, transcript text, temporary audio-derived text, metadata used for classification, or limited live chat text may be transmitted to Doux Parenting systems and trusted service providers to generate safety insights, support alerts, maintain scan history, calculate creator or live-session ratings, or improve service reliability.

Doux Parenting does not access or record:

Audio samples are processed temporarily and are not stored as permanent audio recordings.

4. What We Store

Doux Parenting is designed to store the information reasonably needed to provide the service, such as account details, child alias and age range, alert settings, scan results, flagged categories, parent-facing summaries, creator or live-session ratings, and related dashboard history.

Depending on how a scan is performed, we may also process and store certain content-derived inputs such as transcript text, temporary audio-derived text, metadata used for classification, and limited live chat text where applicable.

We do not store audio as permanent recordings, and we do not access your device microphone or camera.

5. How We Use Information

We may use information collected through Doux Parenting to:

6. Parent Controls and Alerts

Doux Parenting is intended for use by parents or legal guardians. Parents may configure concern thresholds, alert preferences, communication settings, and related monitoring preferences inside the product.

Alert settings are controlled by the parent account holder and may be modified or disabled at any time through available account controls.

If alerts are enabled, Doux Parenting may save scan events and send service-related notifications based on configured thresholds and scan outcomes.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.

Temporary audio analysis data is processed for classification and is not retained as a stored recording library or long-term listening history.

Scan summaries, safety results, related account settings, and certain content-derived analysis inputs may be retained until they are deleted, no longer needed for service operation, or removed as part of account closure or data deletion workflows.

8. Data Security

Doux Parenting uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Information (COPPA Notice)

Doux Parenting is designed for use by parents or legal guardians and is not intended for direct use by children as account holders.

Parents may optionally create limited child profiles using parent-defined aliases or nicknames and age ranges to personalize analysis, dashboard history, and alerts.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and we do not require a child’s real name, birthdate, phone number, email address, or precise location in order to use the service.

10. Third-Party Services

Doux Parenting may rely on third-party service providers and infrastructure, such as cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, communications tools, email delivery tools, and AI processing providers, to operate the service.

These providers may process limited data on our behalf and only for purposes related to operating, securing, maintaining, supporting, or improving the service.

11. AI Processing and Automated Analysis

Doux Parenting uses automated systems, including AI-based analysis, to generate scores, category flags, summaries, ratings, and safety guidance.

In order to generate those insights, the service may process content-derived inputs such as transcript text, temporary audio-derived text, metadata used for classification, and limited live chat text where applicable.

These outputs are intended to support parent decision-making and are not guarantees, final determinations, or professional advice.

AI-generated outputs may be imperfect, incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, or context-sensitive and should be reviewed by a parent when appropriate.

12. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers and infrastructure partners as reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide alerts, support authentication, maintain security, perform diagnostics or analytics, or process AI-based analysis on our behalf.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of Doux Parenting , our users, or others.

13. No Cross-Site Tracking Sale or Profiling

Doux Parenting is designed to analyze supported YouTube content for parental safety insights. It is not designed to track browsing activity across unrelated third-party websites for advertising purposes.

We do not sell personal information or use the service to build advertising profiles about children.

14. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights related to your personal information, including:

15. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the right to request information about the categories of personal information collected, the purposes for collection, and categories of third parties with whom information may be shared.

Doux Parenting does not sell personal information.

If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than those in your location.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
